STEM Competition Training

STEM Competition training

This annual workshop prepares teachers to guide student teams in The Citadel’s STEM competitions, including Storm the Citadel. Educators learn event rules, coaching strategies, and team management skills to help students succeed in hands-on engineering challenges.  For more information about the competition, check out our competitions page.

Topics Covered:
  • What is Storm the Citadel – Overview of events and individual challenges
  • Starting a Team – Recruiting students, involving other coaches, setting expectations, and engaging parents
  • Tournament Scoring – Understanding tournament format, blocked events, individual events, and team winners
  • Event Training – Reviewing the event manual, rules, practice strategies, financial considerations, and available resources
