Learning to Lead CS (L2l-CS)

Grade Bands:  K-12
Dates:   Summer 2026 - Spring 2031
Stipend-Supported:  Yes

Learning to Lead CS (L2L-CS) supports rural South Carolina teachers in becoming leaders in computer science education. This 5-year National Science Foundation (NSF) project provides teachers with mentorship, graduate coursework, and comprehensive Praxis preparation—including study support, practice exams, and free registration—while equipping them to implement computer science curriculum in their classrooms and make a long-term impact on students.

Program Benefits
Teachers participating in L2L-CS receive:
  • Comprehensive Praxis support: guided study, practice exams, and free exam registration
  • 30 hours of virtual graduate coursework at The Citadel (FREE)
  • $10,000 stipend per year for five years upon completing program requirements
  • Mentorship and professional guidance throughout the program
  • Practical skills to implement CS curriculum and grow as instructional leaders​

Eligibility Requirements
To participate, teachers must:
  • Teach computer science in a South Carolina public school
  • Hold a Master’s degree
  • Actively participate in all L2L-CS professional learning activities
  • Implement L2L-CS content in their classrooms
  • Complete one online graduate course per semester
  • Commit to the full 5-year program
